Audio and Melody Analysis

The Track Scale Analyzer is designed as an educational candidate-matching tool. Audio remains in the browser; the application does not upload recordings for analysis.

Analysis pipeline

  1. Decode and normalize the recording.
  2. Estimate pitch over multiple time resolutions.
  3. Generate pitch candidates and track a predominant melodic line.
  4. Reduce unstable or ornamental events relative to structurally persistent notes.
  5. Build a 24-bin pitch-class representation.
  6. Compare observed pitch material with candidate scale models and tonic orientations.
  7. Use tonic, phrase-ending, interval and resolution evidence to rank candidate interpretations.

Recommended material

Solo and melody-dominant recordings generally provide the clearest pitch sequence. Dense mixtures, accompaniment, percussion, tuning drift and ornamentation can reduce confidence.

Interpretation

The output is a ranked educational match, not a definitive identification of dastgah or gusheh.
